Homemade Masks for Dry Skin

Dry skin has a low level of sebum and is unable to retain moisture. Dry skin is thought to be a contributing factor in the formation of wrinkles and premature aging. One of the important steps in skin regimen for dry skin is the use of hydrating masks. Moisturizing ingredients in the masks help the skin to have more balance.

After applying and rinsing off the masks, follow with moisturizer to lock in moisturizer.

Homemade mask for dry skin

Honey and Oatmeal Mask

Ingredients: one teaspoon of olive oil, one egg yolk, one teaspoon of honey, and one teaspoon of instant oatmeal.

Mix all ingredients together. Gently apply the mask on your face and neck. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water.

Avocado, Honey and Egg Yolk Mask

Ingredients: one cup of avocado, two teaspoons of honey, and one egg yolk.

Peel and mash avocado. Mix avocado and other ingredients. Apply the mask on your clean face. Leave for about 10-15 minutes. Then rinse off with warm water.

Egg Yolk and Olive Oil Mask

Ingredients: one egg yolk, one teaspoon of honey, and one teaspoon of olive oil.

Mix the ingredients together. Apply the mask on your clean face for 10-15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

Cucumber Mask

Ingredients: one cup of peeled and chopped cucumber, one cup of avocado, one teaspoon of honey, and two teaspoons of olive oil.

Mix all ingredients together. Apply the mask on your clean face for 10-15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

-Avocado is filled with monounsaturated fats and vitamin A, B, D, and E. Avocado can penetrate the skin quickly, making the skin moisturized.

– Olive oil also contains monounsaturated fat and vitamin E so it helps moisturize the skin.

– Honey has ability to absorb and retain moisturizer, keep the skin hydrated, and prevent skin dryness.

– Cucumber is known to be a cooling agent due to the water in it. It helps in soothing and softening the skin.

– Egg yolk is rich source of vitamin A, D, and E, and amino acids. Vitamin A is a strong anti-wrinkle vitamin while amino acids help nourish skin cells.
