Lip Scrub

Smooth, soft, and supple lips are every woman’s dream. Dry, chapped lips make a woman look old and unattractive because they make lip wrinkles more visible. A lip scrub or lip exfoliator is an effective treatment for dry, chapped lips. It removes dead skin cells and adds moisture to your lips. A lip scrub also helps lighten dark lips. Use a lip scrub every other day if your lips are very dry. If your lips are healthy, using it once a week is sufficient.

Sugar Lip Scrub

Sugar is an exfoliant that helps remove flaky skin on your lips.

What you need:

 - Petroleum jelly or shea butter

 - White sugar

 - Warm water

 - Washcloth

Hold a warm, wet washcloth over lips for a few minutes, to soften dead skin cells so they can be removed easily. Apply petroleum jelly or shea butter to your upper and lower lips using an index finger. Then dab sugar on your lips and gently rub in circular motions for 10 seconds. Rinse with warm water and apply a lip moisturizer to prevent the lips from dryness.

Do not use brown sugar because it tends to be too harsh. Do not use too much sugar either because the scrub texture will be too rough for your lips.

Honey and Lemon Lip Scrub

Lemon and honey is a very effective treatment for dark lips. Lemon is natural bleach while honey contains antioxidants that protect your lips from damage caused by free radicals.

What you need:

 - 1 lemon slice

 - 1 tsp honey

 - Sugar

Mix honey, sugar, and a few drops of lemon juice. Leave the mixture for about 3 minutes and then stir the mixture again. Doing this dissolves the corners of sugar, making the sugar rounded and non-abrasive. Apply the scrub to your lips and gently rub in circular motions. Then rinse off with warm water.

Baking Soda Lip Scrub

This lip exfoliator is more suitable for sensitive skin on lips than a sugar lip exfoliator because a sugar tends to be too harsh for sensitive skin. Baking soda also works as an exfoliant to remove dead skin cells.

What you need:

 - 1 teaspoon of honey

 - 1 teaspoon of baking soda

 - a few drops of olive oil

Mix honey, baking soda, and olive oil to form a paste. Apply the mixture to your lips and gently rub it in. Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a clean washcloth.
