Dry Hair Home Remedies

Dry hair feels rough and looks like straw. It is susceptible to damage, tangles, breakage, and split ends. Many products in the market are developed to moisturize dry hair. However, you can easily find natural ingredients and make your own hair conditioners and hair masks. The home remedies for dry hair help replenish the oils and moisture in the hair. Masks and hot oils are to be used before shampooing while hair conditioners are to be used after shampooing.

Homemade Masks and Hot Oil Treatment for Dry Hair

Olive oil and egg hair mask

Mix 4-5 tablespoons of olive oil with two eggs. Apply the mask on your hair and wrap with a heated towel or a shower cap for 15 minutes. Shampoo and condition as usual.

Avocado and mayonnaise hair mask

Peel and mash avocado. Mix half of mashed avocado and one cup of mayo until the mixture is a light green color. Apply the mask all over your hair and wrap with a heated towel for 20 minutes. Then shampoo and condition as usual. Apply the hair mask once a week.

If you don’t have avocado, mayo alone is fine. Follow the step above. Applying the mayo mask once or twice a week helps repair your dry hair.

Banana hair mask

Mash two ripe bananas. Add a few drop of almond oil. Apply the mask all over your scalp and hair and wrap with a shower cap. Leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse with soda and shampoo as normal. This mask helps seal the hair and improve the texture of your hair.

Hot oils

Warm olive oil. Then apply the hot oil all over your scalp and hair. Massage it on the scalp and gently comb through the hair to distribute the oil to all strands. Wrap with a shower cap. Leave it for half an hour. Shampoo and condition as usual.

Homemade Conditioner for Dry Hair

Coconut & avocado conditioner
